A Wedding Without a Bride (2 person Closed)

After the tea I went back to my room to sleep.

After a while I made another pot of tea and brought it up to his room. It would be cold my the time he got it but at least it was SOMETHING. I left a note underneath the saucer that read When you're sober, then come find me and we can talk. -Sarah

I opened the door after a while and found the tea set. I took it in and read the note. The tea had gone cold, but I didn't mind that much.

I was downstairs in my room, sitting at the desk in there and looking at my sea glass collection, remembering where I got every single one with my parents, especially the ones I got with my mother

I walked to her room and knocked. "Hey..."

I looked up, seeing him in the doorway and nodded. "Come in."

I walked in quietly. "Afternoon, I think..."

"That sounds about right." I nodded and stood up. "Do you want to sit? It's the only seat in here besides the bed."

"I'll be fine." I stood where I was.

"Alright." I nodded and sat back down. "I guess you took the tea after all. I apologize if it was cold."

I shrugged. "Luke warm. It was alright."

"At least it was decent." I nodded, going back to my sea glass. "You really need to shape yourself up, the manor that you're acting in- it's not good."

"I know... I think I've just... Given up..." I sighed deeply. "I shouldn't be doing this..."

At least he's come to his senses.... I thought and sighed. "At least you realize that this is wrong."

I nodded. "But how do I fix this...?"

"How should I know? I'm just on this ship to get to Washington and to get a decent job." I explained. "This is not on my shoulders. It's completely on yours."

I sighed deeply. "You're right..."

I wasn't about to tell him I knew that. It wasn't my place at all to gloat. "Yes well, if you'll excuse me, I left some of my girls down there, training them."

"Training...?" I asked softly.

"Teaching them, on how to run a kitchen properly and keeping things organized when I'm not there. I can't spend each and every single day for almost 24 hours down in that damn kitchen." I explained curtly, and a few moments after realizing my tone. "I apologize, that tone is absolutely unacceptable for a woman to use."

"It's perfectly fine." I sighed. "I need to leave..."

I nodded, not quite sure what to say after that. "Good bye." I said softly and looked down at my desk, then began towards the door myself to go back down to the kitchen.
