Perfect Assassins

"That was mean, Blakely," Lexi frowned disapprovingly.

Kyle:

I scowled at him as he shrugged smirking. I groaned and buried my face in Lexi’s hair.

"Kyle..." Lexi sighed. "You have to get up sometime today."

Kyle:

“But not right now.” I mumbled keeping my eyes closed tightly and hugging her like a pillow.

"Seriously, Kyle. We need to talk..." Lexi said.

Kyle:

I opened my eyes to search her face. Something told me I wasn’t going to like this. “I’m going to go grab supper.” Blakely said before leaving the room. “What’s up?” I asked calmly.

"You've been keeping more than just a few secrets, Kyle," Lexi began. "You're making me think that you don't trust me anymore."

Kyle:

“Baby,” I said touching her cheek. “Of course I trust you. What do you mean I’ve been keeping things from you?”

"About Burke? The fact that you had seen him BEFORE and he was ALIVE?" Lexi demanded. "And you didn't tell me WHY you decided to leave out of the blue."

Kyle:

“First of all, I didn’t tell you about seeing him before because I didn’t think it would be fair to ask you to keep it secret from Krissy, the same is true about why I didn’t tell you where I was going and who I was with.” I explained.

"So why didn't you tell BOTH of us?" Lexi replied, making a face. "We could've helped."

Kyle:

“Because I didn’t think Krissy needed to know about it at the time. It would only have upset her. Besides she was with Michael, and as much as I didn’t –and still don’t- like him, I thought he was better than Eric Blakely.”

"He IS better than Eric Blakely. But as much as you and I don't like him, SHE still does. Next thing you're gonna tell me that Rose and Kai are alive and well," Lexi sighed.

Kyle:

“That’s unfair Lexi. I haven’t been keeping secrets from you, I just neglected to tell you about this one thing. I don’t know everything.” I said.

"You still could've told me," Lexi crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't like it when you don't tell me stuff."

Kyle:

“I already told you why I didn’t tell you. Would you rather Krissy be mad at both of us for keeping it from her?” I asked.

"I would prefer you have told both of us rather than neither of us," Lexi said.

Kyle:

I sighed. “Well, I’m sorry, there, does that make you happy?”

"No. But it'll do for now," Lex kissed Kyle's nose gently.

Kyle:

I smiled softly, pulling her closer and kissing her on the lips.

Lexi kissed him back, smiling.

Kyle:

“I am sorry I didn’t tell you, but you have to understand I did what I thought was best.” I said after a moment.

"I know you were just trying to protect me and you get all cute when you're protective and stuff. But I don't like being left in the dark," Lexi replied.

Kyle:

I smiled. “You think it’s cute when I get protective?” I asked.

"Usually," Lexi smirked, kissing the corner of his lips again.
