Perfect Assassins

Lexi kicked Blakely in the arm. "Shut up."

Kyle:

“Ow, b!$#&.” He muttered. “Watch it.” I growled at him.

Lexi smiled up at Kyle, glad he was defending her. "So...why'd you pick up this bastard?"

Kyle:

“He called me, begging me to come help him.” I told her, a smile twisting my lips. “That is not true you ass. It was a business offer which you accepted. There were others I could have called. I tried Krissy first.” He said, his tone slightly bitter.

"And she didn't answer?" Lexi asked, frowning.

Kyle:

“I tossed her phone, thankfully. From what I saw she wasn’t in a state to handle this dumbass.” I said.

"No...No one is," Lexi frowned. "And why'd you help him and decide to NOT tell me about it?"

Kyle:

“I didn’t want Krissy to find out. I’m still not sure if he should come back.” I said frowning. “Let it be known that I was all for telling you, sweetheart, I told him that he shouldn’t keep secrits from you.” He said quickly.

"No because I usually end up killing someone..." Lexi mumbled. "This time my own f****** brother."

Kyle:

“There was no way around that Lexi. He needed to go. I’m sorry it had to be you to do it.” I told her, holding her a little closer.

A tear dribbled onto Lexi's cheek. "He was still my brother. Even if he was an evil bastardo..."

Blakely:

“Okay look girl, so what if he was your brother? He tried to kill you didn’t he? Bastard needed to be put down. No use beating yourself up over a blood connection. Best he was killed sooner rather than later, and I hate to say it, but I agree with Kyle that he should have done it years ago.” I said. Kyle glowered at me, I wasn’t supposed to say the last bit.

Lexi frowned and turned and looked at Kyle. "What the hell is this dumbass talking about, Kyle?" she demanded.

Kyle:

“What? It’s true..” I said grudgingly. “I should have killed him when I first thought of it. It would have saved us a lot of grief.”

"Which was when? After he kidnapped me?" Lexi asked, frowning. "With the cage and everything?"

Kyle:

“Yep, then. I knew he was no good, I should have just done it.” I said with a sigh.

"Then I would've left. You know that,' Lexi replied. "At that point, I had been looking for him for almost six years."

Kyle:

“I could have gotten you to stay. I could have convinced you. Some how.” I said quietly, still frowning.

"I'm not so sure. I was a stubborn child," Lexi sighed.

Kyle:

“I was, and still am, more stubborn.” Blakely laughed knowing it was true.

Lexi smiled, closing her eyes.

Kyle:

I leaned over and kissed her briefly. “Just rest. Eric why don’t you find a hotel or some place for her to lay down?” “Oh first name is it now? Only when you want something from me. Yeah alright.”

"I-I'm fine, Kyle. Really..." Lexi mumbled.

Kyle:

“Oh hush. It doesn’t matter what you say, you still need the rest, and I’m going to make sure you get it.” I said dismissively,

Lexi smiled and managed to nod before leaning back against him and falling asleep.
