The Year : 2,875 AD

The Setting: Earth--more specifically-- the satellite city of Touchdown.

Now all the ancient drawings of little green men, and big eyed space invaders are laughed at--not because the very idea of aliens in the future is ridiculous, but because:
Aliens are old news. In fact they are commonplace in modern earth.

Now, in vivid contrast to the predictions of Nostradamus, and other apocalypse soothsayers--the earth hasn't been obliterated. No, it has not been destroyed by a nuclear war; instead the entire planet has turned into the universe's party planet. Bright solar powered lights, in various colors dominate the scene. Casinos and bars light up the night with their levitating signs, and flashing slot machines. Forests have been all but demolished to make room for the aliens pouring in, and stocks have grown where thick trees formerly did.

All over the planet, or above it actually, lie satellite cities. Domes that float in the atmosphere with controlled weather, and such. They usually serve as a place for alien arrival, and integration. The biggest of these, and our stage, is: Touchdown City.

It was the first place created to harbor aliens, and is now the size of a small country. It is in fact fully self sufficient, tethered to the earth by a small bridge. It has its own landscape, its own dirts, and its own oxygen. Like anything though it also has its secrets.

Underneath the bright lights, elated tourists, Earth , and "Touchdown City" has a darker side. A layer of science--a science institute ran by the Earth's:
"Society for Alien Integration"
The society was originally created to help aliens integrate into our culture, and to promote friendship between all species. Instead of helping their 'friends' and fellow creatures to adapt the society now cuts them up into little pieces for the sake of human evolution. The humans want one thing: magic. We want the powers everyone else seems to have.

The aliens don’t see it yet, they do not notice their letters laying unopened in mailboxes, and the buzz of monitored phone lines.


However, the council says it is all the hearsay of some warmongers . . nothing to worry about. (Especially when it keeps their pocket's full).

The council? Allow me to introduce another player. The six main species of Touchdown are each represented on Earth, and at home by one of their own. These six officials [usually elected] monitor the wellbeing of their brethren, and are supposed to promote it. Instead, they promote the lining of their own pockets. A few council members still stick to their morals, but can do nothing to the corrupt majority. Contact is all but severed.

Criminals, and distant galactic wars provide a nice backdrop for our dear Touchdown. When coupled with the wild monsters that occasionally migrate toward the satellite, you are in for one hell of a ride my friend.

The thousands of aliens disappearing, as humans strive to uncover the secrets to the other species' abilities.

& MONEY AND SPENDING [ALSO EARNING]


- Paper money is outdated. As predicted by scientists this more advanced society has instead moved toward a card system. THis card is much like our credit cards, except colored differently depending on the person. It lacks a picture--but an ID, and a fingerprint on the front declares the user. Most places have a retina scanner or fingertip one to verify identities.

-- This card automatically converts money into other-world's currencies depending on what you need, no more trips to the bank--unless you need a loan. Or for some god awful reason wish to be nostalgic with a few paper bills.

-- It fits in the money slots on old vending machines, and of course is all that is accepted on the new ones.

When you are paid, information is uploaded into a computer like machine, and money instantly transferred to your card. No paper money required.

It is used in a similiar way to a credit card.


DON'T LOSE IT! EVER! It serves as a passport, an ID, and a means of monetary gain.

So be careful.

Holo-phone

Basic Description:
This slim rectangle resembles a metallic sheet of paper, and has a large glowing box in the middle. Much like modern phones it has a ringtone--either music or just a noise. When you receive a phonecall you remove the phone from wherever it is, and gently run your hand over the screen. An image of the person who calls appears, a small 3-d image. The voice comes through a small speaker at the bottom, and directly into your headset.

Phone numbers are made up of twelve digits--the first two for planet, the others for country, home, and person.

[b]FUNCTION: It allows for long length communication, and occasionally, depending on your species, silent psychic conversations.

Translator headset


Basic Description:
How do all these aliens communicate with one another? These extremely cheap translators. Upon entering Touchdown City you are given a care package, this being the most important object. Coming in an assortment of colors, it resembles a simple headset. They are made up of coiled fibers, and easily customizable. They have become the epitome of fashion, and for an additional price you can get invisble ones.

[b]FUNCTION: These translate any alien language into the common language. It also translaes for your speaker--and is hooked directly into your auditory canals. this handy little ditty [invented by the Vishnu] makes understanding one another simple, and hassle-free.




- THE INTERNET

- The internet still exists. Computers do as well. Anything can be done over the internet now. Each computer comes with a card scanner, and an identity lock. Besides the fact that they are thinner then a sheet of paper, and come without a modem--and have a keyboard of light, they have not changed a bit.

RENOVATIONS


* Smaller, and once again--now uses holograms.
* The shows now not only have human actors, but alien ones as well. The plotlines have been modified to incorpate alien dramas as well.
* Science documentaries have taken the place of many childrens shows. Many of the most popular shows are comedic in nature.




SPORTS
RENOVATIONS and ADDITIONS


* All the old human sports still exist.
* Sports can now be played in the air, or under the water with no issues.
* Virtual reality sports have taken a big jump in popularity in recent years.
* HOLO-BALL
[Played in water or air--in an anti-gravity zone.]
- Much like soccer.
- The ball usually has some nasty surprises [explosions, fireworks, high pitched noises etc.]
- Playable by all species.

- RULES: Two teams of five play against one another in a globe filled with water or without gravity, the goal is to get a glowing ball of crystal. The goal is to get the ball through either goal at the top or of the arena.



* Many more sports now require strategy, and quick thinking. Some Vishnu even have fights without touching one another.
* Leagues are usually seperated into species, or similiar species. If not the use of species specific powers are strictly forbidden. [ This is for all sports]

* Hand-to-hand sports are more popular--but with the addition of the aliens, much more dangerous. Venom, asphyxiation, and disorientation are now possible side effects.

TRANSPORTATION:


CARS//MOTORCYCLES//TRAINS [NOW]
BASIC DESCRIPTION:

- They are now more streamlined, but sadly, many humans refuse to upgrade to a less cumbersome, bulky vehicle.
- Drive themselves, but chips often break causing panic and crashes
- Can run on anything from old fashioned diesel [which is a federal offense to use], to water, to air, to magnets, to vishnu crystal, to brain power, or solar power.
- Usually have three wheels in place of the four, the steering wheel is nonexistent
- THe radio takes up the entire dash in a touchscreen display. This screen measures everything from heart-rate, to the number of miles to your destination.
- Motorcycles are now shaped like scorpions, with one large wheel. They do require some manual steering




TRANSPORTERS
BASIC DESCRIPTION:

- Much like a bus system
- A series of large platforms connect the most populace locales in town.
- With your money card, and a few extra papers you can use these platforms to quickly jump from place to place.
- The platforms are giant rainbow circles, with arches above them, that seem to float in midair, a Vishnu is almost always at the controls.



Airplanes//Helicopters
BASIC DESCRIPTION:

- Not commonly seen in Touchdown, except for a few steam-ran helicopters [ for the hospital], air space is reserved for passenger shuttles, and the flying casino.
- Helicopters now have eight blades, and airplanes four inverted wings




Shuttles
BASIC DESCRIPTION:

- They travel through space, but now come in much more sizes then our cone topped ones.
- The Neebu use ones shaped like pyramids, the Trasi those bolted together out of scrap, the Choroid's resemble some tentacled beast, and the Vishnu have very many streamlined ones. Us? We prefer to use larger versions of our ancient shuttles, although we did remove the ridicoulous cone, and rear-wings.
- These shuttles transport tourists from one side of the universe to the other, and have achieved warp speed in recent years [at least for earth]

Genetic Manipulation

In the revelation of medical Technology, various techniques have come about. The more prominent of these is the Genetic Manipulation. Now, whatever you are you can have your very DNA manipulated. You can run around as an Elf, a Dwarf, or even the classical 'Alien.' Another thing that has come available is Splicing, or the attachment of foreign anatomy to the body. There have been people who have the legs of the leopard, or arms of a bear.

And Splicing and Genetic Manipulation is not just restricted to people. Pets can be made out of two different animals entirely, or be made to fit the owner's fantasies. Why have a normal horse when you can have a Unicorn? or even a Dragon?

Abuses have been made, and there is a popular selling in the black market for illegal modifications. Though, the legal sports forbid any splicing or manipulation past a certain degree.

Planet of Origin:: [KAUU]
Originally it was covered in plains, but now cities of bright white crystals climb to the sky, pretty much everywhere. A few of the purple-grassed plains are still untouched though, usually for nostalgic purposes. Unlike Earth, due to most energy being psychic, and magic--there is very little pollution. The planet possess one large continent, which is surrounded by emerald colored waters, the planet is about half the size of earth.

Vishnu are considered the most technologically advanced of all the alens. They often scoff at the others , considering them primitive; but they have the technology that makes us look like apes. For the most part they resemble humans, except for being a bit taller [6"8 - 7"9 on average], with a few extra limbs. They also have psychic powers.




* They have two pairs of arms, where we have one. These arms are very lanky, with long delicate fingers. They are controlled seperately from the first pair.
* Their skin is a mint green color.
* Their ears are long and elongated, slightly pointed, much like people‘s idea of elves.
* Vishnu have large slated eyes, usually in a shade of blue or purple. The pupil is nothing more than a slit.
* Vishnu have naturally dark hair--usually in shades of violet, blue, or green.
* Men and women have no discernible differences, except in body shape--and voice pitch.
* Most Vishnu wear their hair short.
* A large brightly colored gem sits in the middle of their foreheads upon birth. This gem amplifies their brain-waves, and allows them to use their psychic powers. Depending on one’s station in life more of these gems can be grafted on.
* Vishnu have psychic powers. They can read snippets of thoughts, sometimes feel emotions, communicate with telepathy, or use telekinesis. ( You can only have one or two of these-- it varies from child to child). Through intense training however, years upon years, you can learn how to utilize another skill.

* Vishnu can block others mind reading, unless encountering a stronger foe, and can teach others to as well.



Some Culture:


* They live on a merit system--your job // education .// IQ determines your station in life, and even where you live.
* Seem to lack religion.
* Value intellect.
* Do not possess transportation vehicles, they prefer to walk, or teleport.
* They dislike breeding with other species.
* Live around 600 years on average.

& Choroid --

Planet of Origin:: Aqueli ( a planet made up of 90% water--almost solely tropical. A few islands exist, made from volcanic rock, and a thin layer of dirt.

The choroid is a aquatic race, that makesits entire living below, and right on top of the water. When on Earth they are forced to use breathing apparautus--due to the lack of constant humidity. This apparatus is shaped like a harmonica, and has a semicircular--plastic mask wrapped behind it, covering their mouth and nose. If the technology involves water--they likely have it. Their ships, and all other manners of transportation(things resembling jetskis) are hydro-powered. Their ships resemble a large, winged centipede--and are powered by hydrogen gas.

They are considered the most peaceful of the six species currently in the council.


* Closely resemble humans -- average height : 4'9 -5'5"
* Their skin is almost bone white, occasionally tinted with blue or green.
* Usually live around 400 years.
* They each have six , small-clawed , finger-like extensions on their hands and feet--transluscent, blue tinted webbing extends between every finger and toe.
* When they blush, their pale skin blushes powder blue.
* A thin line of gills runs down their neck. These give them the ability to breatheunderwater.
* Coral-like extensions grow from their ears, and occasionally may resemble fins.
* A long whip like tail extends from their back ends--and ends in a frilly-fan like protusion that pushes them through the water.
* Their skin is usually cool, and slightly slippery. In bright light, splotches of iridescent scales about their torsos are obvious.
* Spine protusions of pastel bone, just from their backs. and just out in the shape of diagonal-upside down L's.
* Their hair is pastel--either dull yellow, light pink, powder blue, white or mint green.
* Females are different from males in the same way humans are--they have curves. They tend to be smaller, grow their hair longer, and have shorter tails as well.
* Some Offensive Terms given to these creatures: Guppies, Water-skippers
Some Culture:


* The music is that of the sea, calming wave like sounds mixed with the quiet uundertone of instruments.
* At the age of 14 all boys and girls are forced to undertake a trial known as : "Coral Retrieval" . They go into the deep water of the open ocean, and must retrieve a single piece of coral. Failure means you must try again, only after you succeed are you allowed to swim on your own.
* The Choroid religion (main one) worships a large Angler fish by the name of "Angu". It is believed that their planet dangles on the edge of his head-stalk.
* In the Choroid culture it is rude to fight over silly things--and family is valued above all.
* Choroid MEN are the one who give birth--much like in seahorses.
* Their most valued export to earth is an unrustable metal by the name of: Wostile. They also send many sea creatures, and water to the planet Earth.
& Trasi --

Planet of Origin:: Planet 3AX5 --this planet is literally a junkyard. Builidngs built from space trash raise up from the muddy ground. The land’s crops grow in fertilizer.

The Trasi are not a race--rather they are the group of “things” that inhabit Trasi. The citizens of this place are the robotic //android // failed experiments of all the other planets. Broken house-robots, malfunction AI weapons, you get the picture. Even though they were considered “trash” those able to function built their own society, and eventually rose to become a superpower. They now make a living off of collecting the other planet’s trash, repairing it, and selling it.


* With these guys you have free reign. As long as you can explain their origins, and why they were tossed away.

* For the most part they are robotic in nature.




Some Culture


* Trasi value ingenuity and the ability to fix things above all else.
* They often hoard trash.
* Children [when born] very rarely live past the age of ten. Many trash-slides claim their lives.
* Compared to the other societies the Trasi are very suspicious--and not a planet for tourists.


& Sallons'd --

Planet of Origin:: Heritite
- The planet has lavender dirt, with bright flourescent grass. the plants that dot its surface are very different from trees, and instead resemble extremely large flowers. Large bird-like creatures fill the sky, and the planet is dotted with cliffs. Yet one will not see a single bridge.


The Sall [which they are commonly called] are an aerial species of extra-terrestial. The Sall live in giant cities in the sky, which are kept there by large helium sacs. The buildings are all extremely straight edged, and built in varying shades of purple. The sky is only light for a few hours a day--and during the dark hours, the sky is filled with bright flourescent colors.


* Closely resemble humans -- average height : 4'9 -5'9"
* The entire species are extremely tan--their skin bordering on brown. Large bands of phosphercent skin line their bodies, the colors range from neon green, to bright yellow.
* Live around 200 years.
* Normal number of fingers and toes.
* Along their bodies, usually near joints are large bladder like extensions--these drain helium from the air, and allow them to float.
* Their ears are long and pointed. They usually point toward the ground--but can also swivel.
* Females are born with small pair of bat-like wings
* Haves jaws filled with sharp teeth, but they happen to be mostly vegetarians
* The species can take steps up to a yard wide.
* They have unusually large pupils, and their eyes glow in the dark. It makes it easier for them to see in the dark skies of the homeland.
* Due to the constant use of helium, they have extremely high-pitched voices.
* Due to the differences in light on Earth, and their home planet--they often need to wear glasses when they arrive.
* This species is stereo-typed as being shy.



Some Culture:


* This species wroships the night.
* They believe 13 to be an extremely lucky number.
* Their favorite games usually involve high-speed races through dangerous terrain.
* Music to them is a new idea.
* They fly in disc-like ships , covered in flourescent paint.
* They utterly despise grey, white, and black.
* Sall dislike the Neebu.

THE RAGTAG MEDLEY

--Now. You are not only limited to those above, but those are what I wish to see the most of. We can also have inhabitants of the following species:

VAMPIRES
+ Not Twilight discoballs. If you want to play one of those horrid mockeries--go on another forum. These are deadly creatures who think of human as packbeasts. NO VEGETARIANS. They are only hurt by christian artifacts, and can't walk in the daytime.

+ Vampires stemmed from a radioactive meteor that hit a small, spI think I Smellly inhabited planet many eons ago. A spaceship crashlanded there, and the virus was spread, changing the species into vampires. It is uncurable, even with Vishnu technology, and those afflicted are sent [or born , it is passed through birth] to a few designated planets in the galaxy.

+ Come from all advancement levels. Some are medieval, and a few from certain planets have high-leveled technology.

+ Closely monitored. Bring their own human slaves [illegal or not].

+ Wood is a rare material in Touchdown, and an expensive commodity. If accosted by a vampire, prey that you happen to be by an antique shop.


WEREBEASTS
+ Treated like animals on Earth
+ The results of Neebu genetic mutations, and a few poorly done animal experiments. The original multiplied, and his gene has migrated into the DNA of other species.

MONSTERs
+ Make it easier--make them sentient.



HYBRIDS
+ Spider people---upper body of a person, lower body of a spider.
+ Satyrs, Centaurs Etc.

GIANT BUGS
[The tourists from planets with these kind of inhabitants--talking beetles, and lobsters are limited. They are often refused entrance due to cultural differences, or the fear of scaring humans].

( & Echani)
Planet of Origin:: They grow up on a small, snow covered planet called Cazna- it is stuck in eternal winter. The Echani live in large underground settlements, and the city is divided by age and prestige. (EG, the Echani elders live deeper underground than the younger- closer to the Gaia)

Echani, while traditionally warriors and guardians who live by strict codes and ethics, have turned in their culture- one that was shunned by the elders of their community for centuries. They are still considered to be one of the most culturally defined species, but their elders suggest otherwise. The elders commonly call the race unfaithful. The Echani are always in sync with the environment around them, and find it very easy to just tap into an energy that they call the Gaia, and draw upon skills, energy and wisdom- making them worthy opponents in a fight.
-There is not much difference between male and female, except that the males are slightly more dominant, and are more protective of the race. Female Echani make it their duty to guard individual members, and make better bodyguards than soldiers.

Because of their sensitivity to their surroundings, they find it very hard to work in large groups of other species, it overloads their brains.

-All members of the Echani race look more or less the same- pale, white skin that seems to glow in the dark, with pupil/iris-less eyes that vary in colour depending on mood, short snow white hair that is always cropped short (it is disrespectful in Echani culture to have long hair) and considerably beautiful features, though none of them acknowledge their natural beauty, or try to enhance it.

-Value honour, pride and wisdom

-Are known to live to up to 600 years

-They have a human-like frame, and usually grow to about two metres in height

-They usually have one or two glowing markings on their faces, arms or back. They vary in colour, shape and size.

Culture (Strong)

-Once you turn fifty years of age, you are considered a young adult. You would undergo a series of tests- commonly known to other species as the ‘Trials of Echani’. If you fail the trials, you are exiled from the race- a punishment that most Echani fear more then death.

-As a child in the community, you will not know your birth parents- you will be sent to live with a stranger, and they will become your master until the Trials- they will teach you everything.

-Attachment of any kind is prohibited in the Echani world- it is a weakness and it has the potential to hurt those around you without meaning to. Therefore, it is forbidden to publicly show love, or compassion.

-An Echani will not own anything- have no possessions apart from one weapon of their choice/design/making that they create from relative scratch in their Trials.

-It is considered an unforgivable sin to mate with anything outside the Echani race. One is not allowed to sully the name of GAIA.

Akiari

Planet of Origin:CI think I Smelln 4. The planet is a multi-sectioned place that has quadrants of forest, desert, iceland, ocean, barren, and volcanic waste. It looks like a patchwork quilt from above.



* The Akiari are an elemental race. Each indivual is comprised of water, ice, snow, magma, fire, rock, dust, tornadoes, fog, leaves and branches, wood, or metal.
* Each species has some control over a base element:water, wind, fire, or earth
The more solid elements have a husky stature, while the more amorphous are leaner. There is no build difference in males and females.
* Akiari can live up to be 60 centuries old
* Akiari have no facial features, so they communicate by a sonar/telepathy mix, and they become aware of surroundings by the same process.
* All Akiari on a different planet wears a containment suit that hold in their substance, allow them to experience the 5 senses, allow them to speak, and hide their Akiari nature to other races.
* Akiari aren't born the normal way. Every few years, one will come out of an element, and start life on CI think I Smelln 4, although some have been reported of being born on Earth...
* If you look at an Akiari's coloring, you can tell if they are good or bad. The evil Akiari have a much more darker, rotten look than those that want to help





Culture and behavior


* Akiari think themselves superior to most other races. As a consequence, some Akiari seek to help out the unfortunates, and help them achieve their perfect status; while others seek to keep their superiority and ruin the lives of the other races.
* Their religion is that the spirit of their planet, Titania, is the very nature itself. Titania created each separate 'race' or 'species' of Akiari by taking bits of herslef and breathing life in the shells. For this reason, they have a deep respect for their planet, and despair of the humans.
* They hold a species-wide celebration with a fair or party that lasts half a month, with the remaining month taken up by solitude and contemplation to celebrate Titania.
* Akiari don't take life mates, unless the individuals behavior points in that direction. They can mix with certain species, but the child is usually left to be adopted.

Planet of Origin:: [Matridan]
Matridan is 93 percent covered in water. They few continents they have are more like large islands. The largest of them is just a little smaller than Australia. These islands are covered in lush rainforests, and crisscrossed by watery canals. Due to the unique composition of the atmosphere, the sky is a pale purple, and the oceans reflecting the sky are deep violet.

Generally called the Matri or the 'Triani by other extra-terrestrials, they are often seen as a rather old-fashioned race. They are a very nature-bound species, preferring to live in homes made of wood, mud, and bark, or tunnels dug into the banks of the canals. They have limited technology, but only because they feel they have no need for it. The small portion they do have though runs on water, due to the abundance of it on their planet..


* Eight limbs, four to walk and swim with, two for manipulating objects. Three joints in all limbs
* Figure looks a bit like a centaur with a long neck.
* Gills on the sides of their necks, for breathing underwater, as well as lungs for breathing air.
* Hands are human in looks, but with webbed, four-joined fingers.
* Two sets on eyelids that close vertically. The secondary set is clear, and is used to see underwater.
* Males have a finned ridge down their spine.
* Long tails with a trident-shaped fin on the end. males have a poisoned claw on the end.
* Reproduction is similar to plants, with the males releasing pollen from their tails, and the females catching it in a slit on their chest.
* Short rounded muzzle. Sharp teeth in the front, and grinding molars in the back.
* Their skin is smooth and moist. If they get too dry, their skin flakes and cracks.



Some Culture:


* Diet consists mostly of fish, but they do enjoy plants and fruit as well. They don't understand the appeal of most human food. Especially gum and rice crispy treats.
* They believe that all living things, animals and plants alike, have a soul. However, that doesn't keep them from eating living things. They believe strongly in the 'circle of life'.
* They extremely dislike planet earth, but feel it is their duty to keep an eye on it. You can sometimes see a group of Triani planting trees, or collecting trash.
* A small band of rebel Triani have made their home on Touchdown, and spend their time getting piercings and partying.


SKASSI.

Planet of Origin: Kuass.
Kuass is a rather small and barren desert planet, originally serving as a prison for a now-extinct race from another planet. Creatures of that race were dumped unceremoniously onto the dry, harsh planet and left to rot. Instead of dying or suffering terribly on Kuass, they survived and evolved over hundreds of thousands of years, and built up an advanced society. All water on the planet is found beneath the surface, and must be dug for. The earth is an unpleasant shade of gray-brown, and most of the planet is sandy or rocky, though there are some muddy spots, and even some rare areas where shrubs and other plants manage to grow. Asides from in these spots, there are no plants, and all wildlife is either carnivorous or, curiously enough, capable of photosynthesis, and these creatures tend to sleep deeply, buried underground, during the dark and long nights.

Cities on Kuass are large, sprawling, and seemingly chaotic, with extremely tall buildings of varying sizes and shapes (though most have sharp features and edges) scattered about in a way that appears almost haphazard. Every building and item is made primarily of metal, for Kuass is rich in minerals and ores that can be smelted down, but the buildings are strangely warm to the touch due to artificial heating systems, and the streets are contrastingly rock or dirt. There are no lights in Skassi cities, and since Kuass nights tend to be very long and nearly pitch-black, with daylight lasting only five hours or so each day and being dim as it is, the cities are tough to get around for most sight-dependent species. There isn't a terrible lot of advanced technology on Kuass (most of it is little more than public transportation, some sound/communication systems, and automated machinery in factories, and most Skassi technology has been engineered to produce heat), and what there is that cannot run on its own or without the use of eyes tend to be operated by non-Skassis. The only reason that Skassis have begun to branch out from their home planet and visit other worlds is due to being re-discovered by other races.

* Covered in dark, metallic scales that have little sheen to them, and don't have much color variation from one Skassi to the next; they tend to be either blue, purple, black, gray, brown, or on very rare occasion a gray-white, though this is exceedingly rare. The only parts of a Skassi's body that are not scaled tend to be their reproductive organs, the lower halves of their faces, their ears (which are, curiously, covered in a coI think I Smell fur), and the pads of their hands and feet. Exposed skin is usually either gray, black, or brown, but may occasionally have a more white or purple undertone. Skassis are incapable of growing hair and their skulls are covered in scales as well.
* Have very wide mouths, filled with sharp needle-like teeth (two rows of them). Do not have eyes or noses, and smell with their long, tube-like tongues (which are not forked; they end at tapered, pointed tips) that flicker in and out of their mouths periodically. The tongues are black, as are their gums, though the tips of the tongues tend to fade to a dark blue or purple.
* Due to being blind, Skassis have extremely sharp senses of hearing and smell, and also have heat-sensitive organs in place of where their eyes would be that allow them to at least sense other (warm-blooded) creatures and have an idea of where others are. They also have an underdeveloped sort of method of echolocation, though it isn't very precise, and most Skassis on Earth have managed to figure out that shrieking every few seconds to know where things are makes others shy away from them, so they refrain from using it. To help them avoid colliding with things, they tend to use one set of arms to constantly feel around in front of them, and another set to feel around behind them or to their sides, the third set being used normally.
* Male Skassis grow a pair of sharp, small horns upon their heads. Females grow shorter, stubby ones.
* The reproductive organs of Skassis are similar to those of humans, and male and female Skassis can be distinguished from one-another primarily by comparing these organs (duh) or observing differences in their body sizes and shapes. (Females are smaller and more hunched than males.) Female Skassis do not, however, have I think I Smell, for they don't produce milk for their young. Baby Skassis come out of the womb with teeth developed enough to tear into meat, and stomachs developed enough to digest it, so they just start out eating solid food.
* On that note, Skassis are carnivorous. They live pretty much entirely on meat, and require very little water to survive and function in a healthy manner. Vegetables upset their stomachs.
* Skassis have three pairs of long, skinny arms, with four-fingered hands at the end of each limb, and one pair of even longer and slightly bulkier legs. Their feet are flat and three-toed, and the toes are more like hard, sharp claws than digits. Their fingers are extremely long and slender and taper off to sharpened tips. Their torsos are hunched and tend to be bulky in the chest area to support the extra limbs. Skassis also have long, skinny, scaled, whip-like tails that tend to be about as long as they are tall -- which is, by the way, long, for Skassis on average tower over humans at seven to eight-and-a-half feet in height. (Females are usually six to seven feet tall.) Their necks are abnormally long, and their bodies tend to be very slender.
* Skassis are warm-blooded, but have a relatively low body temperature (an average 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit) and don't like hot climates. They also dislike bright lights, because while they're unable to see, they still have blind, small, useless and evolutionarily neglected eyes capable of sensing light, and they are very used to either pitch-black darkness or only faint illumination.
* They have large lungs that are capable of breathing oxygenated air, but since they don't have noses, they breathe with their mouths.



Some Culture:

* Skassis on Kuass only very rarely wear clothing, and even then it's just during the winter months, as Kuass can get very cold and it's practical to cover up then. After all, why wear clothes when it's perfectly warm? On Earth, however, clothes are pretty much required for most humanoid races, and so Skassis reluctantly will wear pants, but not tops. They see no reason to wear tops. Since Skassis are very tall and skinny, most pairs of pants that they get tend to be both too short and too loose, unless tailored to fit.
* Skassis of course do not typically create paintings or sculptures or any forms of art like that, but they do very much enjoy poems or stories told aloud. They also love music, though their music tends to consist only of vocals and perhaps the tap of a drum or a foot to keep a beat. Either way, Skassi music is usually only enjoyed by Skassis, due to the high-pitched and wailing sound made by most Skassi vocalists, and it's hard for a non-Skassi to appreciate a myth told by a storyteller from Kuass thanks to the grating, hissing, throaty sound of most Skassi voices. They have very unpleasant accents even when their language is translated by the headsets, hissing their "s"s and saying "ch" sounds with in a harsh, throaty manner.
* Can live up to 300 years.
* Though they aren't religious and most don't worship any deities, Skassis are very superstitious and believe in all manner of beasts and curses that they tend to tell folk stories about. Some religions on Kuass have formed around these beliefs, but are not wide-spread.
* Skassis are very open about their emotions, opinions,etc. As a result, some things that Skassis say may be considered rather rude by Earth standards.
Xeernites
Planet of Origin- Xeerni-- This planet is almost entirely covered with vegetation, and the bodies of water are quite small.

About The Xerrnites


[*] Their skin color ranges in various shades of green or brown/tan. Have you ever picked up a leaf, or stem of a flower? Do you realize how there are little stringy things that are pulled snugly together to form the leaf? Well, that's what the skin of a Xeernite is like. The string-like strands are wound up, around stick-like bones, that support the body. Their 'Hair' is actually just skin, grown out. It's usually wound up, like their skin appears to be, but with no support. Their 'hair' ranges in shades of green, as their skin does--sometimes, the person will have light green skin, and then a dark, emerald green grown-out-hair-skin
[*] This species have lips that are usually a light brown, with a woody looking grain. Not only are their lips brown, but so are their teeth. And the tongue, gum's, etc? Those are a few shades lighter then the skin tone of the creature.
[*] The limbs on a Xeernite are very willowy, and their figure tends to be slender
[*] LIke plants, Xeernites have cells that produce their own food for the creature.... THere will be the rare occasions where a Xeernite eats something that wasn't naturally produced, but it usually results in them getting sick.
[*] Xeernite's height ranges from four to six feet,when fully grown.
[*] Males and females have few differences--Though all tend to be slender, as mentioned above, their differences in body types are similar to the ones in humans...
[*] Females have wider hips, and tend to have..er...different chest types
[*] Males have broader shoulders, their voices tend to be deeper, and they usually are just slightly taller then females.
[*] Eyes have a very large pupil/iris the eye colors vary.
[*] Last but not least, about appearance, the Xeernites regenerate, like Starfish,worms, etc. So, if you cut off a limb(OTHER THEN THE HEAD), of course it would hurt, but it would slowly grow back,if entirely disconnected.

Culture


[*] Usually care lots about the enviorment
[*] When they turn 25, they are considered young adults.
[*] At the age of 25, there is also a test. It's basically supposed to tell how 'strong' they are. What happens? The Elders see what happens when the 25-year-old looses a limb, and the less time it takes to grow back, the stronger they are.
[*] Center of Authority= The Elders. (Don't ask where I came up with it. =P)
[*] Doing things outdoors is a main hobby of the children of Xeerni
